What do you do with all of those coupons?

Anyone who has ever stopped by our food bank and seen the stack and drawers full of coupons, have asked the same question, “What do you do with all of those coupons?” Being the good financial stewards that we are, we make sure that we are saving as much money as possible on all of our food purchases. We employ our “Extreme Couponing” skills to match sales prices with coupons for particular products that are on our shopping list for that week.

We send out an email (like a “Bat Signal”) and we rally our shoppers. They pick up our shopping lists, the coupons, and a method of payment, and off they go to pick up the items we need. Oftentimes, our shopping trips result in a few free items, as well as items that we have saved anywhere from 60-80% on.

Here’s how you can help.

  1. Collect your Sunday and Wednesday coupon inserts.
  2. Drop them off at Fresh Harvest Food Bank during office hours, or slip them in the mail slot.
  3. Volunteer to be a part of the coupon team. This team usually needs help on Fridays. Contact us for details.

That’s it. It is super simple, but it makes a tremendous impact on our ability to stock our shelves and distribute food to those in need. See at the pantry!
