Fresh produce makes a world of difference

Why do we offer fresh produce to our families? The answers vary, but the impact is the same. From limited funds, to limited knowledge regarding preparation of fresh produce, many families in need give up on fresh produce to survive the financial crisis they are currently experiencing.

We believe that healthy produce makes a difference. It has a healing effect for many families in need. It provides essential nutrition and gives families a boost in self-esteem. When you eat well, you feel good. Each distribution, we offer families our version of a “farmer’s market.” They are able to choose the fresh fruits and vegetables for their family, and go home knowing that they are putting fresh food on the table.

Want to join us? We need simple, budget-friendly recipes and meal ideas to offer our families on their pick up days. Email us at info@freshharvestfoodbank.org for more information.
