Bag Packing Night
Fresh Harvest Food Bank could not exist without the generosity of our volunteers. The best part about our volunteer program is that it is all-inclusive. Families with children, senior citizens, youth groups, sports teams, school groups, company group – all are welcome and able to constructively help at Fresh Harvest Food Bank!
Fresh Harvest Food Bank recognizes that people like to volunteer in a way that best suits their skills and personalities and we offer a variety of ways to be involved with us.

Stackers and Sorters
As you can imagine, keeping a food bank organized, inventoried and continuously tidy can be quite a task! If you love to sort, count, organize, and see immediate results, Fresh Harvest is a great place for you to volunteer!
Bag Packing Nights
Where else can you take your family for a family-friendly night of volunteerism and fun? Fresh Harvest Food Bank! The fun atmosphere, camaraderie and community spirit on bag packing night is what keeps our volunteers coming back.
Twice a month, we need help packing our families’ bags with pantry staples and setting up the food bank to accommodate our distribution the next morning.
The main event! Twice a month on Saturday mornings we bring in fresh produce, dairy, eggs, bread and more to distribute, along with packed bags of personalized pantry items, to our families in need. On these days we need help in the front of the food bank greeting our families and assisting with their wagon train of fresh goodies. The back warehouse can always use help loading the wagons, packed bags, and birthday bags into vehicles.
Everyone loves a birthday! Help us prepare Birthday Bags for the children in our program. We need help packing the Birthday Bags with the cake mix, wrapping paper, tape, decorations, and gifts in preparation for the week’s distribution. Birthday Bags are packed twice a month during the week of a distribution.
Help us sort and inventory clothing donations. Also help organize and hang clothes so that our registered families may “shop”.
Volunteer outside the food bank
If you are the type of person who finds yourself window- shopping the aisles of the grocery store, then we want you! Our volunteer shoppers sign up to purchase items from our pre-selected lists from area grocery stores. We provide the detailed lists, stack of coupons, and the budget money to purchase the items for the food bank with our “extreme couponing” skills.
The Hot Meal Team
The Hot Meal Team is what we like to call our boots on the ground. This team organizes our hot meals for at-risk youth. Once a month this team brainstorms a meal, organizes the ingredients, prepares the meal and serves it on location. This team is also called into action to prepare meals for families in need around the community.
Weekend Wellness Packs
Our Weekend Wellness Packs are one way in which we make sure that kids are fed over the weekend — when they need it most. We need team members to help us put together packs. This includes the purchase or collection of items to packing each item in a bag. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please give us a call.

Ever wonder what to do with those coupon inserts from the Sunday paper? Don’t trash them; bring them to Fresh Harvest! We will add them to our stockpile of coupons so that we can make every dollar count.
Check the labels of your favorite food items for Box Tops, cut them out, and send them in to Fresh Harvest Food Bank. The money we receive from these programs is provided to local schools in need.

Do you have a home garden or community garden plot? Consider planting an extra row of veggies for Fresh Harvest Food Bank, and donate your abundant harvest. Help us feed our families, and the local non-profits we serve. Download our Garden Produce Guidelines for details.
